About

My name is Nick Gloyn, and photography has been part of my world for more than twenty years. I completed my Advanced Diploma in Photography (Commercial) in 2003, and soon after, my wife and I launched our own wedding photography business. Even when my career moved in a different direction, my love for photography never went anywhere — it’s been a constant companion ever since.

These days, you’ll most often find me behind the lens at a sports field. Sports photography is my favourite challenge: fast, unpredictable, and full of moments that disappear in a heartbeat. But I’m just as happy shooting anything from portraits to landscapes — if it involves creativity and a camera, I’m all in.

One of my greatest joys is teaching photography. I love helping people finally understand the camera they bought with so much excitement, only to leave it sitting on a shelf. Nothing beats seeing someone switch off Auto mode for the first time and realise what their DSLR or mirrorless camera can really do.

Right now, I’m also building my own darkroom, with the dream of guiding students back to the magic of film photography and black‑and‑white processing — the hands‑on craft that first inspired me.

Whether you’re picking up a camera for the first time or rediscovering your passion, I’m here to help you learn, explore, and enjoy every moment behind the lens.
